Tough being separated from my family!
I had a great Christmas and New Year break with my wife and two children who were able to come and visit me in Australia (from Vietnam where we have lived for the last 10 years).
It has been a lot tougher being separated from them for so long while taking part in the QUTbluebox program and I have missed both boys birthdays and my wedding anniversary. Sacrifice is indeed a part of being an entrepreneur.
Onto the good news! We are a finalist in the QUTbluebox program and have had an offer of co-investment from the QUT founders fund. More on this next blog post when the paperwork has been signed.
The university is starting to get a lot busier as classes will resume in the next few weeks. The foundry (home of the QUTbluebox) is alternating between being packed and being empty depending on the day.
IAJN continues to get a lot of support and interest from the great team at Trade Investment Queensland (TiQ) and Brisbane City. If all goes well we are hoping that IAJN will open an office in Brisbane in 2018.
Ready for an announcement soon!
Lastly our seed investment search continues to progress and is looking likely that we will have an announcement about this in the next 3-4 weeks. Raising capital to expand our services has been a really interesting process and despite the reputation that Australia is a difficult place to raise we have had a lot of interest from series investors.
Thanks to all the great people at QUTbluebox, TiQ and Brisbane City for all their support to date.
We have 7 weeks left until the end of the program and very much looking forward to pitch night.
